This week, my church announced a new ministry initiative, called Theophostic Prayer Ministry. After several months of reading and surfing and interviewing and prayer, I finally went to google and found out what it all means. This is what I found… TPM is “Intentional and focused prayer with the desired outcome of an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and subsequent transformed life.” (Theophostic.com’s definition).

Basically, what theophostic prayer ministry does is this… As you spend directed, quantity time with God, you start to see issues and sin and junk in your life, and, as the Holy Spirit moves, those things are taken out of your life. Very much like gold being refined in fire. Or a dirty kid coming in from the dark… the farther into the house he gets, the more you realize how dirty he is. Maybe that’s closer. Because the word ‘Theophostic’, in latin means Godly Light. (thanks, Dr Tom).

As this deal gets going, I’ll keep you updated. I’m excited to see how it’ll change and stretch and grow our ministry here at the CFM. Thoughts?
